Airbus pilot reveals near-miss with UFO over Berkshire countryside.

A pilot has told how his passenger jet came with feet of being hit by a UFO while flying at 34,000 feet over the Berkshire countryside.

The captain was so convinced that the “rugby ball” shaped object would smash into the Airbus that he ducked as it headed towards the cockpit.

The pilot reported the incident to air traffic control and checked the aircraft’s instruments immediately after it shot past, but there was no sign of the mystery object.

It appeared so suddenly out of a left hand side cockpit window, that the aircrew had no time to take evasive action, before it passed within a few feet of the jet, The Telegraph reports.

An investigation by the aviation authority has been unable to establish an earthly explanation for the UFO, which was described by the captain as bright silver with a metallic construction and “cigar/rugby ball like” in shape.

An incident report states: “He was under the apprehension that they were on collision course with no time to react. His immediate reaction was to duck to the right and reach over to alert the FO (First Officer); there was no time to talk to alert him.

“The Captain was fully expecting to experience some kind of impact with a conflicting aircraft.”
The UK Airprox Board, which is in charge of investigating near misses in British airspace, established that no other aircraft were in the vicinity at the time. It also ruled out meteorological balloons and toy balloons. Military radars were checked, but none had picked up the UFO.

The report concluded it was “not possible to trace the object or determine the likely cause of the sighting”.

The A320 Airbus, which typically carry 150 passengers, was flying 20 miles west of the airport when the UFO was sighted. The incident happened at 6.35 pm on 13 July of last year but has only been detailed now with the publication of the report.

My comment :

1. So if I understand it correctly : UFO in aviation - terms means, Unidentified First Officer.

2. But joking aside : In terms for a more nautical environment, I once introduced the term UFO for Unidentified Floating Object.

3. In my humble opinion : For users of small ships on our seas and oceans, one of the majors dangers people can stumble upon, is a collision with objects which are floating on or - even worse - (just) under the waterline / water-surface.

4. On topic : I still do not have any substantiated opinion (indication) on the apparent observations from people of unidentified objects floating / propelling / flying through the airspace.

5. The most logical explanation might be to refer to (possible) experiences of a hallucinating nature, where people might project pictures from the "inner space", on the outer space.

6. So-called "photographs of UFO's" seem to be varying from right-out "photo-shop like" manipulations to (false-interpretation of) co-incidental "appearing" components within a photo-frame.

7. In general, there seems to be a natural inclination by many people, to identify "observations" of phenomena they do not understand or can not explain immediately as UFO's.

8. Calling those "unidentified objects" UFO's might be correct in a scientific sense, in so far one does not say "UFO", but (one) in reality does mean to say  :  "Objects from a superhuman / extraterrestrial origin".

9. I - to expand the definition of and subject on UFO's a fraction - do often compare those spectacular UFO "sightings" with so-called religious observations, in which context lots of "like-minded people" are completely convinced of the real possibility to materially "observe" (hear / see / feel) messages and/or "signs" from a "divine" and/or "metaphysical" nature.

10. What has always amazed me the most of these "sightings", is that when private individuals are talking of "hearing voices" and "seeing signs", one usually and rightly is diagnosed with a mental deviation.

11. But as soon as entire communities are claiming the most outrageous "observations". "phenomena" and/or "holy beliefs", society is treating these social categories with respect and all kinds of protective law's to accommodate "the freedom of religion".

12. Religious Believers are even allowed to (and assisted by the entire political, economical, military and diplomatic weight of official nations to) violently concur and brutally colonise the territory from other people, and/or kill other people "on religious grounds", without even the slightest inclination, to diagnose those people as being heavily and structurally mentally deranged.

13. "Mentally deranged", because - objectively speaking - those communities in fact seem to be suffering from collective delusion and/or mass-hysteria.

14. But as long as the democratic standard is - and accompanying electorate considerations are - being applied on these subjects, religious communities are declared mentally sane and completely equal in terms of rights to publicly express and "celebrate" their "holy believes".

N.B. Yes, I am fully aware of the presence of official (mostly military and mostly highly "secretive") departments, which "are studying UFO's", but one can hardly use the existence of official examination-bodies as the ultimate proof for the existence of UFO's from a "extraterrestrial civilisation" or comparable terminology.!
